Get Booked is an online book club community operated by Margaret Lee, an individual based in California ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Get Booked you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Get Booked.
You must be at least 14 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use Get Booked, and only a parent or guardian (or someone 18 or older with their permission) may pay for anything. Keep your login details private — you're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has accessed it.
Memberships cost $5.99 per month or $24.99 per year, plus any applicable tax. Before you pay, you'll be asked to confirm that your membership renews automatically. It renews at the end of each month or year and your saved payment method is charged until you cancel. Yearly members get an email reminder 15–30 days before each renewal, and monthly members get a reminder once a year.
You can cancel online at any time from your profile (Cancel, or Billing & receipts). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments aren't refunded and partial periods aren't refunded.
If we change a membership price, we'll email current members at least 30 days before the new price applies. The new price takes effect at your first renewal on or after that date, and you can cancel before then if you don't want to continue.
Some members have a free lifetime membership — for example accounts created before our paid plans launched, or accounts that redeemed a valid lifetime promo code. "Lifetime" means for as long as Get Booked continues to operate and your account stays open and in good standing. A lifetime membership is free, can't be transferred, and will never turn into a paid subscription automatically. It can be ended if you break these Terms.
Members who are authors can post a listing for their own book on the "Books Written by Members" shelf for a one-time $10 fee per book. A listing includes the cover image, title, description, an external link you provide, and optional discussion questions. Get Booked doesn't host, sell or let anyone download your manuscript — readers follow your link. The listing goes live as soon as payment completes and stays up while your account is open and Get Booked operates, unless you remove it or we remove it for breaking these Terms. The fee is separate from membership and isn't refundable once the listing is posted, including if you delete it or we remove it for breaking these Terms, except where the law requires a refund. A listing doesn't guarantee any number of readers, reviews, clicks or sales.
You keep ownership of the reviews, posts, messages, photos, covers and book details you share. You may only share content that you created or have permission to share. You give us permission to host, display and share that content within Get Booked so the service can work. Direct and group messages can be seen by the members in that conversation; see our Privacy Policy for when we may access them. Don't post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or anything that infringes someone else's rights. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
Be kind. No spam, impersonation, scraping, or attempts to break or misuse the service.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. If you have an active paid subscription, it's cancelled right away when you delete your account. Renewals stop, access ends immediately and the rest of the paid period isn't refunded. Your book listings are removed. Lifetime memberships end when the account is deleted. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
Get Booked is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will always be available or error-free.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
We may update these Terms. If the changes are significant we'll let members know by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Get Booked after that means you accept the updated Terms.
